Discipline of Communication
Our primary objective is to maintain a consistent output of high quality research and well-prepared graduates through our accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. With a highly skilled and qualified team, we are proud to be one of the leading communities in the region specialising in various areas of communication engineering. These areas include electromagnetic analysis, wireless technologies, Radio-Frequency and microwave devices, antenna technologies, radar systems, and satellite communication.
Discipline of Computer
In the early 1990s, the Discipline of Computer Engineering emerged as the Computer Engineering Division within the Department of Electrical Engineering. Its primary purpose was to provide comprehensive support to the department's diverse programmes. Over the years, the discipline underwent significant transformations, leading to its renaming as the Department of Computer Engineering in August 1999, commemorating the institute's transition into a university.
In 2008, a new chapter began with the establishment of the esteemed Centre for Computer Engineering Studies, driven by the nation's increasing demand for skilled professionals in electronic and computer engineering. This center dedicated itself to meeting this demand by continually elevating the knowledge and expertise of its members in teaching and research.
Discipline of Electrical Power
The Discipline of Electrical Power is dedicated to conducting research and teaching activities of the highest international standards in the field of electrical power engineering and related areas. With a focus on excellence, most of the current research endeavors within the discipline are generously funded by the government, university, and industry. The vibrant research community in Electrical Power is committed to producing internationally-leading work that has a positive impact on society, publishing their findings in prestigious international journals. Furthermore, the discipline actively collaborates with other departments and industry partners on specific research projects, fostering a spirit of innovation and knowledge sharing that permeates undergraduate teaching.
