Exploring the Discipline of Electronics at the School Electrical Engineering

Within the realm of engineering, the Discipline of Electronics has emerged as a pivotal center for academic programs specializing in electronics engineering. As one of the five established disciplines at the School of Electrical Engineering, it offers comprehensive educational opportunities in this dynamic field.

Thriving Research Endeavors

Situated at the main campus in Shah Alam, the Discipline of Electronics is dedicated to cutting-edge research in Electronics and Microelectronics. Its diverse departments focus on several key research areas, including device development, integrated circuit design, and material fabrications. These research pursuits are at the forefront of technological advancements and hold immense potential for future innovations.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

To provide students with hands-on experiences, the Discipline of Electronics features a range of well-equipped laboratories that serve both teaching and research purposes. These laboratories are divided into two primary categories: Teaching and Learning (T&L) and Research Activities. They serve as vital spaces for undergraduate programs, allowing students to apply theoretical concepts to practical applications. The following are some of the notable laboratories:

Teaching and Learning (T&L) Laboratories:

  1. Electronics Laboratory
  2. Network Laboratory
  3. Microelectronics Laboratory
  4. Undergraduate Project Laboratory

Research Activities Laboratory

The research activities laboratory plays a pivotal role in facilitating advanced research endeavors within the Discipline of Electronics.

NANO-ElecTronic Centre (NET) Lab: The NANO-ElecTronic Centre is dedicated to the development of nanomaterials, nanodevices, nanofabrications, nanoprocesses, and nanocharacterizations. With a team of over 50 researchers and students engaged in nanoelectronics-related research, NET is a hub for pioneering advancements in this field. Their research areas encompass various aspects of nanoelectronics, including nanodevices and nanofabrications, nanomaterials, nanoprocesses, and nanocharacterization techniques.
