Students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam embarks on a 72-hour Eco Challenge under the UNEP-DHI program which requires players in team of two to develop an online catchment Aqua Republica. The game requires players to manage water resources in realistic virtual scenarios such as conflicting needs, trade-offs due to resource limitations, flood, drought, etc. Invited speakers spoke on water security, Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), ecosystem services approach, and participation and consensus building to help students understand better decision-making process in water management. Our students enjoyed the game tremendously and have shown excellent understanding of the key management strategy. We are proud to announce that our top scorer made it to the top three in over 500 teams from all over the world!
