Flood Preparedness: The Role of Flood Barriers

This program aims to provide understanding and awareness among the community regarding the role of flood barriers in addressing flood issues, as well as developing flood strategies and action plans to enhance the efficiency of flood barrier utilisation. In this program, residents of Taman Sijangkang Jaya, along with students, explore ways to improve the use of flood barriers to better prepare for floods. The program begins with a talk on flood preparedness by Ir. Dr. Suzana Ramli, a lecturer from the School of Civil Engineering, UiTM, followed by flood barrier installation demonstrations. The flood barrier invention competition marks the highlight of this activity to equip the community in a state of readiness to face floods. The encouraging response received indicates the community's growing understanding of the importance of flood barriers introduced by Civil Engineering students from UiTM.
