Sharing Session: Best practices as Academic Advisor (PA)

The Outcome-Based Education Committee has organized a sharing session on best practices as an Academic Advisor (PA) for newly registered lecturers at the Faculty of Electrical. This program was being held on 28 September 2020 at the Smart Classroom Room Arif@B.6.

This program is held to explain the responsibilities and best practices to guide and monitor the academic journey of students under their supervision until the students graduate, OBE Committee has invited Prof. Associate Bibi Norasiqin Sheikh Rahimullah, an experienced lecturer to share her practice in carrying out her responsibilities as an Academic Advisor.

As a result of the briefing, the participants have learned about:

1) responsibility of Academic Advisor (PA) UiTM.

2) PA action during the beginning of the semester, during the running semester and the end of the semester.

3) focus that needs to be given to students, especially students who are in the final semester.

4) how-to guide and motivate students.

5) Academic Advisor Manual for reference.

6) ways to connect with students.

7) Tools used by academic advisors.

8) the importance of analyzing student achievement.
