Water Sustainability: Achieving A Greener Future
This program focuses on enhancing creativity, innovation, and education among the Seksyen U12, Shah Alam residents. Several mini-programs have been implemented under this program, namely:
- Rainwater Harvesting
- Tower Building Competition
- Water Filtration Competition
- Treevolution
- 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
- Clean Orb
It also aims to raise awareness about the FOUR (4) categories of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 15 (Life on Land) among the residents.
Dr. Janmaizatulriah Binti Jani led this program as the Program Chief Advisor and with other advisors; Dr. Nazirah Binti Mohd Apandi, Ts. Dr. Norhafezah Kasmuri, Dr. Sharifah Binti Abdullah, Ts. Dr. Nor Hazwani Binti Md Zain, Dr. Muhd Norhasri Muhd Sidek and Ts. Dr. Rozaina Ismail. In addition, this program has been conducted in collaboration with the Water Resources Management and Hydrology Division, Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia.
Overall, these activities can provide benefits such as increasing community awareness of water sustainability, strengthening knowledge of water resource conservation, promoting environmental consciousness, and encouraging effective practices in water usage and conservation. By implementing this program, you can help create a greener and more sustainable future for the local community and the environment.
