The revised pavement design manual released by JKR Malaysia, “Manual for the Structural Design of Flexible Pavement” (ATJ 5/85 Pindaan 2013), is based on mechanistic design method. The workshop presents the theory and application of the mechanistic design concepts. The workshop includes materials characterization, structural response calculations, pavement performance prediction, and mechanistic-empirical pavement design. The workshop also discusses ongoing research and the effects on the state of the practice of flexible pavement design. 36 participants from academia and industry have attended the worskshop. 6 CPD hours was awarded for the workshop by BEM.
