Ringkasan Aktiviti/Program: 

A two-day workshop: "Publication Made Easy" was organized by MIROS. Two academicians from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam was invited to share their experiences in publications mainly on journal and conference papers. Important topics covered were on (1) Academic writing; (2) Why write and publish; (3) When to write; (4) How to find good journals/conference; (5) Where to publish; (6) What are definitions of journal and conference?; (7)Journal/conference indexing services;(8)Importance to be a reviewer. The participants were provided with various articles/books for reference (academic phrase bank, tips to be a reviewer)

Pencapaian Aktiviti/Program (Sebelum): 

The objectives of the workshop are for the participants to: 

(1) Differentiate types of paper/article; 

(2) Understand the importance of publication (publish or perish); 

(3) Describe the difference between indexed and non-indexed publication; 

(4) Understand the importance to be a peer reviewer for conference and journal reviewer; 

(5) Use reference manager to write articles for publication; 

(6) Determine suitable conference/journal to publish article; and finally each participant is required to 

(7) Submit article to at least one (1) selected conference or journal

Pecapaian Aktiviti/Program (Selepas): 

Each participant has indicated to journals and conferences they intended to submit. 

About 20 have submitted their intention to publish. A monitory worksheet was also provided to the MIROS organiser.
