PRO PENS

INTRODUCTION

PRO - PENS

PRO-PENS evaluation process is conducted by the faculty’s academic office (HEA) to monitor the performance of lecturers in teaching and learning. Evaluation will be carried out by observers from the faculty’s Pro-Pens committee on lecturers in the class room. The observers are required to evaluate the lecturers based on a standard Pro-Pens evaluation form provided by the academic office of UiTM

In order to effectively implement continuous improvement in the teaching and learning of the lecturers, the faculty has decided to make some changes in the evaluation process.

The amended evaluation process was implemented from the Feb. 2017 semester onwards as follows:

  • The first batch of lecturers to be evaluated was the 30% of the faculty lecturers with the lowest evaluation marks under the guard of the current committee.
  • Also included in the list for evaluation are names of lecturers proposed by the respective Heads for Center of Studies (KPP) and lecturers who have recently returned to the faculty.
  • Lecturers who are being evaluated will be told of the results of their evaluation and given suggestions by the evaluator on possible measures for improvement.
  • The lecturers selected for evaluation will be evaluated for two or three consecutive semesters for the evaluators to observe the results of their improvement initiatives.
  • Those who attain a score of 90% or higher will be taken out from the list to be evaluated..
For those who do not attain a score of 90% or higher after three consecutive evaluation, their names will be given to the faculty management in order for appropriate training to be assigned to them.
